DMARC for marketing platforms

How do I set up DMARC for Constant Contact?

Constant Contact self-authentication generates CNAME or TXT records and DMARC policy details inside your account. The exact values are not published, so take them from there.

CNAME or TXT at the host Constant Contact generates

Alignment caveats

  • ✓Self-authentication is what lets mail sign with your own domain, so enforcing DMARC before you set it up risks your campaigns.
  • ✓A domain can publish only one DMARC record. If you already have one, don't add a second; check it against the policy details Constant Contact shows.

From p=none to p=reject with Constant Contact

  1. Publish v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:<your-business-id>@mail.yourdmarc.online, or build it with the DMARC generator. Delivery does not change at this stage.
  2. Add the records above, then verify them with the SPF checker and the DKIM checker, entering your selector.
  3. Complete self-authentication, then send a campaign and confirm the aligned DKIM pass in your reports before tightening the policy.
  4. Move to p=quarantine when your legitimate mail passes, and watch the reports for anything you missed.
  5. Move to p=reject with sp=reject. Read the enforcement guide for what tends to break, and keep monitoring afterwards.
